I haven’t gotten any other pairs of this model besides the “OG” colorway. Enter these Saucony Grid Azura 2000 x End Brain! This collab draws inspiration from the human brain.
While not a lot of people may be paying attention to this particular release, I think it’s a definite sleeper and I’m glad to add these quirky bois to the collection!
These ship in a special white pull-out style box featuring End’s bespoke “brain” pattern on the front and cobranding on the top. These also include sets of white and pink laces with a special puffy “brainlike” build to them and branded aglets.
The shoe itself features the brain print on the insole and outsole and cobranding on the tongue similar to the box top. These are supposed to also include a brain-themed stress ball, but End stiffed me on that extra! Supposedly some areas glow in the dark although I have not been able to get it to really work.
How Are The Materials?
These feature nubuck and suede along with the see-through mesh areas. End and Saucony did not disappoint on the materials! Whereas the general release pair I got before had a more retro quality to it, these are definitely way more premium! The nubucks used are super soft. Meanwhile, the light tan (grey?) suede is also very buttery and even produces a backstroke. There are some 3M elements as well. Overall the materials on these are very nice!
How Do They Fit?
I wanted to get my typical Saucony size of 9.5 on these Saucony Grid Azura 2000 x End Brain. Sadly, the overseas Saucony exclusives typically don’t include half sizes, so I went with a size 10 instead. These do fit comfortably at that size. I find this shoe to be quite breathable thanks to the loads of mesh on the sneaker. In short we get the typical comfort level that can be expected from Saucony, which is to say, above average for a retro runner!
